Long Stride control on keyboard vs mouse
Hello, fellow saviors.
Today I got my Hoplite circle 2 and put a point in Long Stride, which I expected to be a cast jump with a reticle to aim my landing.
At first I was very disappointed to find out that all my toon did was jump directly up and land at the exact same spot. Not really expecting anything I decided to switch from keyboard control to mouse control, and imagine my surprise when the skill let me aim and actually cover distance with the jump!
I kept going back and forth between the two control setups but couldn't for the life of me make my hoplite jump anywhere but directly up on a keyboard. Here's what I tried (Long Stride is bound to R):
-
Hit R once and wait
-
Hold down R and wait
-
Hold down R and hit random arrow keys
-
Hold down an arrow key and hit R while moving.
All of these led to the same scenario: the hoplite activates Long Stride immediately as R is pressed, jumps directly up and lands on the same spot.
All the while with a mouse it's as easy as holding down LCtrl+4, aiming with the arrow keys, and releasing LCtrl+4.
Am I missing something crucial about keyboard control? This is my first (and so far only) toon and I haven't tried long casts other classes have access to. I kind of got used to keyboard setup, because 1) it was the default one and 2) the game explicitly says that "Mouse control might not be feasible for Swordsman and Cleric". Which is even more confusing, considering that keyboard controls do not in fact control the toon properly.
Any guidance from other hoplite c2 owners would be appreciated.
