Maggard V3A Head

So I recently bought a maggard V3 and V3A head. I've been using a Merker 34c for a while and was looking for something more aggressive. I like the V3 head but when I shave with the V3A head no matter the angle I hold it at all I can feel is blade scrapping my face. It is not smooth or comfortable and actually left a bit of razor burn after a recent shave a few days ago. Any thoughts on this head??
