Build Complete

Hey Everyone - I finally finished my mITX build. I named her Susan. I built this as a present to myself for finishing grad school and for my upcoming wedding in July.

Lesson Learned: One major challenge I had with this build was not realizing my dependency on USB 2.0 Headers. My motherboard, the ASUS Maximum VIII, scored great reviews, but I neglected to notice that it lacked a single USB 2.0 Header, which my NZXT Kraken and Hue+ both required. This was luckily fixed by getting a USB3.0 to USB2.0 converter cable and a USB Expansion Hub. I had to forfeit my 2 front USB 3.0 ports, which I luckily wasn't planning to use anyway.

Other Hardware: My laptop is an Alienware 15R2 (i7 6820hk and 980m 8GB) --- I received this on a major discount and use it for mobile gaming. I'm using a Steelseries Rival (original) and a Logitech G710+ keyboard.

OTHER COMMENTS: I was nervous about buying the Acer X34 monitor, but I seemed to have lucked out. I have minimal backlight bleed and was able to reach the max overclock of 100hz without issue. I switched from a BenQ xl2720z 27" 144hz monitor and my jaw drops each time I play a game in 21:9 resolution.

Huge thanks to this community for helping me out with part selection and troubleshooting! Happy to answer any questions you might have.
