Which music player/streaming option supports pre-made playlists?

I have a pretty large music library and want to set up my Pi to play files located on an external hard drive. I have playlists based on genres, etc. and want to be able to simply play one of those vs browsing for a specific song. Do any of the builds out there support this? So far the only one that has come close is Musicbox but I got stuck at "Trying to reach Musicbox".
