Carrier unable to recover aircraft, bug or feature?

So I'm toying with the Langley again today, and I'll spare the gorey details of the match, but towards the end I was rendered unable to recover aircraft. Someone in chat said that he'd damaged something with his HE, but I think that's just fire, and I wasn't on fire. I checked after, and there wasn't any major module damage, the closest being a couple of AA guns.

I'm thinking that this was a bug, but is it actually a bug, or can you actually knock out a carrier's ability to land (and possibly launch) aircraft now permanently, not just by setting their deck on fire?
