Can we buy crowdfund the "frisbee" copyright?

Serious suggestion here: can the disc golf and ultimate communities come together and crowdfund ownership of the frisbee copyright? There are millions of players, and if we all chip in a few dollars, we can just call the damn sport "ultimate frisbee" or "frisbee golf". Disc golf is fine, but "ultimate" on its own always seemed odd IMHO.
