Help finding a racing car game

Hey guys,

A few of my mates having been playing the hell out of Battlefield 4 for the past few months and are still having an absolute ball, but we were talking last night, and sometimes war starts to get weary, the constant dying, burying the dead, losing point B in Zavod.

My question to you is, are there any good racing games out there that are a blast online. It doesn't have to be the latest and greatest game, and it doesn't even have to be AAA game. Something that is fun but also competitive.

There aren't any games similar to Crash Team Racing on Xbox One is there?

Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Thanks all for your comments, I've got Trackmania Turbo which I love as a single player game, I've managed to convince my mates to buy Horizon 2, played a bit last night and am really enjoying it!
