Just defeated Aldrich and now I have a problem

I killed Aldrich when his homing attack was still active, so it hit me while I was very low on health. But before my death animation finished, the cutscene started, and I was teleported to this place with some guy laying in front of me. That's where I died.

I dropped 50,000 souls and I have no idea how to even get to the place where I dropped them. Help!
