How do i deal with nitro cells as Montagne?

So i really love playing montagne, but i'm just so sick of nitro cells. As soon as a defender sees any sign of a shield they immediately nitro me and there's little i can do as my shield is usually extended.

I'd say about 2 thirds of my deaths as montagne are from nitro cells. Is there anything i can do to counter this
