Straight from straight keto to PSMF/RFL?
I was doing 16:8 IF for 18 months then went straight to keto, which I've kept up for a month. I am enjoying it and have found that the IF prepped me well for keto. In fact I carried right on with the IF into keto.
I was trying keto for many reasons, but one was the stubborn abdominal that wasn't shifting with IF + SL 5x5 + some sprint stuff. It hasn't really dented the gut at all after 1 month, so I guess I suck at calorie counting long term.
Blood beta ketones going up as high as 1.7 mmol/l, so I'm dipping into optimal ketosis and training feels good.
I am tempted by PSMF, and am currently reading LM's ketogenic, so am interested in his RFL book. Does this reddit generally favour going with the Lyle McDonald approach? I was thinking of doing this without the refeeding cycle or free meals. The livestrong article mentions refeeding at the end of the diet, not weekly. Also I read over at his forum someone stating that there should be a break between the keto 'diet' and RFL. I don't understand the motive for this idea either.
I was thinking of not breaking out of keto before or after PSMF. Is that something people do?
Thinking of buying LM's RFL handbook anyway, but OTOH, I'm already on multivits, potassium, magnesium, Vitamin D, spinach and broccoli every day for weeks now, so it doesn't seem like rocket science. Recommendations welcome.
Thanks very much for reading.
