General noob questions

I played this a year or two ago on my PS3 and got bored quickly when I saw the lack of features it had compared to the new-gen consoles and PC. Now I have it on PC, and I'm a little lost. I'm a level 52 DH currently, and I finished the campaign on normal and then skipped straight to adventure mode. Since then, I've been doing a lot of the bounties and a few of the nephalem rifts. Am I doing something wrong such as doing the bounties too early or something? Should I just keep grinding towards level 70 before really worrying about doing GR's and such? What about the armor plans that I get after doing bounties for a given region.. are they much to worry about?
