Cow Hide Rug in Dryer?

Hey Guys,

I am dealing with a minor bed bug issue. I have a beautiful cow hide rug. I know I'm not supposed to do this, but what would happen if I threw the hide in the dryer at high heat for 20 minutes.

Heat is the best weapon against bed bugs... but I would prefer not to destroy my rug.
