How would Mad Men have fared on a network that allowed more nudity, stronger language, drug abuse, etc (such as HBO).
For a show that was surrounded with plenty of adult themes, AMC's guidelines censored a lot of the more "offensive" subject matter that would have been shown on a network like HBO. For example; the sex scenes would have probably shown nudity, there would definitely have been more than a few "fucks" thrown into the dialogue during heated discussions. Not saying it would have turned into The Wolf Of Wall Street, but perhaps it would have added to the realism of the happenings in the program. It may have also pushed the show into "over the top" territory, and hindered the subtle brilliance most of its viewers came to love.
What do you all think? Would having more relaxed guidelines in terms of censorship have added, or taken away from the show?
Apologies if this question has already been asked.
