Kids running out of their house without permission/petting a strange dog
Posted a while back about the neighbors' kids in their backyard under my window screaming bloody murder whilst playing. That hasn't changed. I've noticed more about this family that annoys me. I keep hearing the adults(I think it's mom and grandma, unsure) yelling at the kids some variation of, "Get back in the house!" They apparently ave a problem with keeping at least the littlest one from running out the back door or front door without permission.
I make a bit of extra money dog sitting/boarding(keeping them overnight in my house instead of taking them to a kennel etc.). The other day I walked my charge around the block, and as soon as I got in front of the neighbors' house, I hear, "Puppy!" I look and the littlest girl has come running out her front door to come pet the dog. Dog is the sweetest thing, super friendly, but there's no way for this kid to know that. A second later I hear, "Get in this house!" Kid completely ignores command, strokes the dog's back. I said, "I think somebody wants you to go back in your house." Ignores me, too. Again, "GET IN THIS HOUSE!" Still ignores them. I repeat, "I think somebody wants you to go back in your house." Ignores me still. I say, "I'm sorry, I gotta go." and start walking towards my house, which, thankfully, seems to make the kid go back in her house. So, runs out of the house on a whim, no childproof locks to keep kid from running out, and has not been taught not to run up and pet strange dogs. Awesome. I've changed my dog walking route so I don't walk past their house. I don't need to get blamed for something happening to that kid.
