Power in Disappearing
There is a power in disappearing
in losing oneself to experiences
that we often discount
yet that define who we are.
Standing high on that bluff
is where I do my penance.
listening to what the grasses
whisper and rasp.
The blades dance and sway with light
alongside elm's whose branches bend and play
and whose leaves shimmer, even at night.
I stand vigil on the precipice's edge.
below sapphire crystal.
above cerulean opal.
Then Zephyr visits me
that messenger of change.
She crosses my outstretched arms,
cascades over my face,
cleanses my soul
which she then uplifts and ferries away
And I lose myself...
no more thoroughly than the Snake Handlers of the Appalachians.
My corporeal, My body, left there
in a Christ Pose under the drumming sun
Heart still thrumming to nature's song.
That vessel will turn to dust
crumble like pillars of salt and dunes of sand
But the world does not stand
still while i am whisked on the wind
that is encompassing you all.
touching you and thereby changing you.
And all this power cost
was that i become lost.
