Cocoon of Love

Feedback Received!

Some blaze like a wondrous molten rainbow,

Vibrant and vivacious.

Dancing indigos, oranges

Marines, scarlets,

Junipers, saccharine mulberry wine, and fires.

Attracting others like moths to a kerosene lamp.

The plodding beasts of burden reaching for the beauty.

Their hands slowly outstretched erupt in radiance

As they plunge into that swirling miasma of color.

Flesh to charcoal and ashen bones clutch desperately for a hold.

Face peels back,

Revealing a freshly obsidianed skull grimly grinning in embraced ecstasy.

Arms clinging to the zephyr zealously.

Then the wisp of hues passes through.

Trailing ghostly tendrils of puppet string residue,

Leaving the hollowed looking longingly back,

Then facing forward exhaustingly looking to be renewed.

Some pass the emptied, passing a hand over like the pious over a pauper.

Some neon impersonations of what came before.

Others leisurely respites despite being fickle sprites.

Others still mannequins doing their best impersonation of crutches.

Each remind that the void is not vacant, and rise with the others supporting clutches.

And slowly form grows again like an oak sapling.

A warm glow begins in the distance and steadily approaches

A basking light made into a corpuscular being.

But in its finiteness lies beauty

And the oak flourishes around that radiance.

Harboring this miniature sun from the vicious winds

And gaining strength from its constant reassurance.

Reflecting what is given in near idyllic rapport.

Harmony begot from symbiosis.

Happiness playing like a symphony.

Home found in self via the mirror housed in somebody else.

Happiness playing like a symphony.
