Thank you guys for actually talking about the Orlando Massacre and why it happened.

You guys are the first people I saw talk about this. You talk about the truth of why it happened; someone with radical Islamic beliefs was homophobic so he killed innocent people. And you're not afraid to say that.

As a gay person, it's so painful to see everyone else dodge the truth. To obscure facts and cover it up, to refuse to talk about how Islamic homophobia was the motivation. The media and everyone right now are pushing hard to say it has "absolutely nothing to do with Islam, Islam is not homophobic." I haven't seen the Bernie Sanders sub reddit (where I frequent) talk about it at all. Sanders decried the attack as horrible (no shit, everyone else did), but wouldn't call it homophobic, religion based violence.

Trump did call it out for what it is. And so did all of you here. It means the world to me to see people standing up and saying "No more hate crimes like this. No more slaughter." Sometimes, when we're in pain, it feels impossible to stand up for ourselves. Thank you for standing up for me and other gay people horrified (traumatized?) by this attack.

Everyone can be homophobic, and not all Muslims are. That doesn't change that in this case, it was Islamic homophobia that let to the violence.

I disagree with you guys on a variety of ideological things and on the way you present yourselves. But I'm deeply moved by the fact that you're taking the killing here seriously for what it is. It's an attack on all Americans, but it's specifically an attack on gay Americans. And you're willing to say that that's wrong. Thank you so much.
