all we get is cause and effect
the width of this pad probably affects 
the things being said
you can give people thoughts to think
change the very nature of what the next day brings
conversation can rearrange the brains of human beings
does that not bring on a strong want
to write the next great song?
to bring a frozen man's thoughts to thaw?
when you get called mental just remember
the brains mazes are physically drawn


all we get is to observe and reflect
consciousness is information being processed 
energy's efficient allotment
we can see where we have come from
and we can see what's up ahead
but every movement is set in stone
from the moment the motion began


all we get is perspective shifts
fresh blood fresh mind fresh pair of eyes 
reliving what has already died
if I take a page from every book from which you took
it isn't as far fetched as it might at first look
that we arrive on the same page from the same book
if only for a moment, out of sheer luck
