As an every day biker, this doesn't look consensual.

57
rivermonkey66OP•

I'm actually helping the bike out with some past issues through role play. Our safe word is "flat tire!"

58
MistaBanks•

Looks like bike - rape, and plus the bike is probably non-binary and very surprised the micropenis fits in the valve stem.

Yacht crew are some sore losers. The lawyers got first place, 2nd bikers 🎈

43
rivermonkey66OP•

It's Duck Dodge related?

2
space_time_fold•

Westlake boat community fought with bags of money for over a decade over parking spots.

22
rivermonkey66OP•

Ah... The word crew threw me off. I live on a boat on East Lake myself, i'd want that path if I lived there. It

6
space_time_fold•

I guess crew was a bad choice. GANG is probably more appropriate

4
ratlater•

live on a boat on East Lake Eastlake

Houseboat or a liveaboard? I used to live in that neighborhood and loved it, but dry rents are just fucking insane now.

1†
tannerzSouth Lake Union•

It was only the mega yacht moorage place that fought. The rest of us can't afford the lawyers.

nothing expresses your commitment to a cause quite like sidwwalk chalk.

They actually used some sort of viscous fluid like paint or caulk or something, and it has seeped into the asphalt.

Wow they're real fuckers then. Thats our goddamn tax money they're ruining

It's since been changed to "Love Bikes, Fuck Trump" or something like that. Noticed it on my walk home.

22

I'd rather fck my bike.

19
PhoenixMaskKirkland•

Whatever inflates your tires.

Just tell the other bikers to stop mowing me over on the sidewalk >:C

3†
4756745698•

I'll get right on that at our next meeting >:D

10
im_not_in•

Just tell the other drivers to stop mowing us over on the road.

5
PhoenixMaskKirkland•

I ride the bus. Hence why I am on the sidewalk.

2
Hutch24•

Have you tried speaking for yourself? It's empowering to not rely on others to do so.

4
PhoenixMaskKirkland•

I do and its actually hilarious because a lot of people get so offended when I tell them off. (Though my post was a ribbing in case you couldn't tell, I wasn't being mean of course. Text with no context can make me sound like a cranky old man haha.)

Or a strumpet

2
isaaceros•

That's it. Relax and let the tire in.

did you photoshop me out of this photo? My son and I almost ran into you when you were doing this. I was on a purple bike and he was in a yellow trailer behind me.

8
rivermonkey66OP•

Oops, sorry for blocking! But no Photoshop.

I should send kudos to the stranger who asked if wanted a picture. I said no, but then this popped in my head and I waved him back over.

Thanks picture takin' stranger!

8
OrangeCurtainGreen Lake•

So, were you already humping the bike then someone asked if you wanted a photo, or were you taking a photo of the bike lane then someone asked if you wanted a photo, and then you decided to hump it?

4
rivermonkey66OP•

The latter.

1
ChefJoe98136West Seattle•

Just one bike ? Clearly, the instructions call for multiple bikes to be involved.

8
rivermonkey66OP•

This bike's shy.

Why don't witches wear underwear? Better grip on the broom.

6
SpreadItLikeTheHerp•

This only works if theyre a-straddle the broom... doesnt work so well if theyre riding side-saddle.

1
shoezGreen Lake•

I ran by that graffiti yesterday and I lold. Who is this mad about a bike path?!

6
grumbly•

Boaters and their free city subsidized parking lot.

8
SnarkMasterRay•

So we're trading a parking lot that's been there for a hundred years ("city subsidized") and changing it to a city subsidized bike path. Either way, tax-paying citizens got some use out of it. While more tax paying citizens are going to get use out of this and be safer, your "argument" is as sour grapes as the boaters.

-10
grumbly•

Funny enough, it's a city subsided bike path that's part of the city's plan to reduce traffic deaths and injury. This was part what the residents of the city voted on with the Move Seattle Transportation Levy which directly funded bicycle master plan. So, yes, we as city have decided to take part of public facility that servers a few (parking for boaters) and add a safety corridor that serves the many. In the process that public parking lot total capacity went from 1271 spaces to 1143. This, by all accounts, seems like a win win for everyone.

The question raised above was "who mad about a bike path". Clearly, it's the boaters along westlake who see this as an attack on "their" parking. Everyone else in the city seems ok with it.

9
SnarkMasterRay•

I'm just saying when you trade out one subsidized purpose that's been there for a century (even three-quarters of a century at minimum) for another, it's kinda silly to wonder why people are mad about that change. Further more, to use "subsidized" as a mockery when the replacement is also subsidized.....

Everyone knows an asshole cyclist. We're tired of your shit. We just won't say so to your face, because we're polite.

-15
shoezGreen Lake•

Yeah, but "fuck (all) bikes" just because some cyclists are assholes? It doesn't make any sense. I think it's more of a class issue TBH.

6
ChefJoe98136West Seattle•

Re: Class-issues -

There's a story on the west seattle blog of alki residents who are unhappy with the answer they got from the police of what they can do re: loud motorcycles/cars/people with boomboxes where residents are discussing how to close the streets to vehicular traffic because of some vehicles possibly violating noise ordinances. http://westseattleblog.com/2016/06/im-not-going-to-lie-to-you-spd-hears-complaints-from-alki-community-council-says-not-much-can-be-done/#comments

I'm not sure it's a "class issue" just because some bikes can be cheaper than some cars and some boats can be pretty expensive.

Wow that new trail looks super nice, when are they supposed to be done with the entire thing?

2
Hutch24•

"Summer" 2016 I believe. I'd say it's about 75 % done now.

5
shoezGreen Lake•

End of summer is what I've seen. They are probably about halfway done and summer starts in 5 days with the solstice.

2
ebox86Wallingford•

very cool, i think they made a good compromise with the rich people, i mean at least something's getting built. Its going to be a great trail once its done.

1†
Hutch24•

My main complaint is how awkwardly it connects with Westlake, but it's still pretty nice and convenient.

6
rivermonkey66OP•

This section is a bit too busy with markings, IMO.

1
tannerzSouth Lake Union•

The majority of the people it impacted, and still impacts are lower middle income families who live on boats and barges. There is one rich houseboat community, but it is small compared to the rest of us shlubs. It is good to see so many people use the path and not the parking lot. It was really dangerous.

-6
Imperious•

The majority of people it impacts are the lower-middle income families that now have a safe place to bike.

14
Hutch24•

How has the construction of a bike lane in a city owned parking lot impacted them negatively?

2
neoikon•

Sweet fuckin' bike!

2

Novarra Big Buzz. Needs different grips but it's nice.

Different grips for sexy times?

Hell yeah... you gotta be able to hang on when the ride gets rough, nawmsayin?

My dog does that to bikes, really! I should take a photo. Brings new meaning to riding a bike.
