Haha. I don't know what it's like in the US, but as a Sydney resident I just wanted to mention that Raiders gear is really common here, especially in the western suburbs (towards where this occurred). In my experience it's worn more as a fashion statement evoking west-coast gang culture than actually in support of the football team. The people I've asked about their support for the Raiders don't really know anything about them. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy was one of those sort of fans.
Like, I get it's still a funny story in the context of this sub but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Haha yeah I'm from there so I knew that when I posted it, just a bit of fun. The bogans love their raiders merch.

They're aren't many out here, no rings helps that I guess. But that's why I picked em, they have that in common with my league team.

Out of curiosity, how did you become a Charger fan?

I decided my team based on which NFL cities I've actually been to. I tagged along following the Seahawks and SD for a while but over the last year or two I've found I'm just so much more fond of the Chargers.

That's exactly what it's like in the US. A bunch of wannabe thugs that know absolutely zero about football. Maybe 1 out of a 100 people you see wearing Raider gear will actually know something about their team.

The fan base is growing in Australia, they're devouted fans out here.
There's a new domestic league starting this year that features domestic, ex NFL, CFL and College players that didn't make the cut.
I know it won't come close to the real thing but I will support it.
