Lots of Pain from sensitive temp crown
Howdy!
I had a temporary crown put on my molar #14 after coming in yesterday with a very painful toothache that had ramped up over the two days prior, and was booked for a root canal Thursday. Today the crown is constantly painful with sharp stabbing pain any time it's touched. Dentist prescribed an antibiotics course of Cephalexin and no pain medication. Is this normal and I have to deal with it, or should I try to get in contact with her despite it being Saturday to see if I can get some form of painkiller? Does it make sense to try to find an emergency dentist and get the root canal done ASAP? Making it 5 days is going to be dreadful with this pain as it's enough to keep me from sleeping and is a constant distraction over the last few hours.
Thursday shes brings in a guy who just does molar root canals, and I have been taking advil with little to no relief.

It might take a couple days for the antibiotics to kick in and calm the infection down. Try tylenol?
