Cleaned PC now won't start?

Hello and let me preface by apologising for any formatting issues that arise (I'm on my phone).

So I cleaned my PC this morning, a routine maintenance for me, even if this one was a little bit overdue. I used nothing but compressed air and always made sure I was grounded.

Now my PC won't start. What happens is: it starts, then stops and then starts again but without any BIOS, display or beeping. I've tried it without the GPU, I've checked the RAM, I've made sure no wires came loose accidentally.

Specs:

  • i5 2500k
  • gtx 770
  • 8gb corsair vengeance
  • p8p67 pro mobo

Thanks for any support! :)

try removing the cmos battery for 10 seconds putting it back in again and see if it boots.

Nope. It didn't seem to have an effect at all. :(

try the following remove the cmos battery, remove the gpu, put one stick of memory into the motherboard, put the cmos battery back in and then try booting.

Again, no dice. The doesn't do the initial start then stop but it just does a no-boot with no beeps (happened before when I removed cmos initially).

Edit: to expand, when I remove the cmos it doesn't start then start on the first power up after I replace it but it reverts to the normal start, stop and start again on following power ups.

just make sure to double check the cables and make sure all the power cables are properly pushed in. try giving every cable a gentle push .

Along with pokeg0's suggestion, also re-seat the graphics card and RAM. (By that I mean remove and securely reinstall)

Did you make the fans spin with the compressed air?

ModemEZOP•

Nope. I always make sure to keep them held in place, I moved them manually to reach areas to dust but that's it.

Is the switch on the PSU on?

you could try to short the power pins on the mobo as a test

Have you tried reconnecting everything, including reseating your graphics card?
