Any cards to counter Goldzan other than Scarface Pete?

I enjoy running AP Sustain decks, but I've got a 5% win rate against Goldzan decks... (Prior to adding Scarface Pete to all my decks, it was a 0% win rate)

Is there any other cards I can use? I'm reluctant to give up my favorite archetype because of one deck out there, but it's so common. I'd settle for a 10-20% win rate, but I can't figure out any way to counter them other than hoping I'm lucky enough to cause them to discard their win conditions.

I haven't tried it but balance elemental could work. The best way to beat goldzan is to kill it before combo, but ap sustain isn't very good at doing that sadly. Sometimes ap grief can mess them up, but if you're going all the way to final fight they will likely still get enough gold to combo.

I usually run a bit of damage, but that's more to soften opponents for the final fight (Ogre Chieftain, Bar Fight, sometimes a couple of Greater Demon) and only tend to kill opponents that intentionally eat a bunch of damage from their own creatures (Vanescula and sometimes Ariane)

So yeah, Goldzan tends to have great lifegain (Gain life equal to your gold? Okay Gluttonous Behemoth Jr.) and doesn't tend to damage themselves more than 4-8 from their gold doublers right before they kill you.

I would just join the don't play constructed till they fix all the unbalanced stuff they did in the last patch like goldzan.

Well for Raptor, there's the card that gives you armor=half your rival's gold. Think it's an emerald.

That will only save you if you play it after their last double card is played and before they use Ling.

They certainly do still need to do something about it, cause it's basically the new zay-anne

I added a Bandit Camp to my Hopezan deck. I've never got the timing right yet but one day it's gonna hurt someone.

I occasionally play Goldzan and usually don't survive more than two chapters against aggro decks. AP grief also hurts. But AP and armour stacking decks don't stand a chance against bling.

I have decent success with my AP Dragon Set Ozan against Goldzan, with the addition of Bandit Camp. Also, Knight Varrock in Dondakan's Raptor could somewhat work? I bet very few try out Knight Varrock in Dondakan Raptor. i was once able to get the timming on Temple Guard right and get 80+ Armor with 2x Knight Varrock, on top of ~ 40 Armor i currently have but again, if Goldzan properly tech for it ( aka Green Dragon) then It is still a loss for me

I like playing money stealing Ozan. Doubling your 3 Gold doesn't really do much :).

I haven't played almost at all against it on league though, maybe I'm just lucky. I won the one game where I faced it.
