World Bank Development Report, 204
North America:
The leak regarding the Terra Nova Protocol hit the Continent hard in 2039, but as the year continued and North America continued trading as normal, those worries largely dissipated. A relatively quiet year for North America, punctuated largely by waves of foreign investment has seen NAMCO experience some rebound.
Central America and the Caribbean:
A large influx of foreign aid and general patronage from NAMCO and the Netherlands has seen the region experience a great deal of growth in the wake of the Terra Nova scandal.
South America:
Programs in Gran Colombia and the Guyanas have stabilized the continent's economy, priming it for further growth in the early 2040s.
Northern Europe:
Partisans in France continue to harass occupiers, but reconstruction initiatives and a general return to normalcy have balanced the regional economy. The disease continues to spread, but will hopefully be hemmed in and eliminated.
Eastern Europe:
The Romanian civil war has broken the silent reverie over the region, and the threat of multilateral intervention has many preoccupied.
Mediterranean:
Major protests rocked Italy this year, but the continuing cohesion of the MTC has prevented this from having major economic reverberations. Cooling tensions between Greece and Italy have tempted investors back to the region.
Western Africa:
Nigeria continues its ambitious economic projects, trying to maintain its industries in the face of global chaos.
Central Africa:
The finalization of the USLA has seen a tremendous economic boom to the region, long dormant for many years.
Southern Africa:
URSA has largely stagnated, maintaining large growth, but doing little to take advantage of it.
Eastern Africa:
Economic activity is at an all time low.
Western Asia:
The UAF against Iran, the Arab Commonwealth striving to maintain cohesion, dissolution of unions, Soviet basing in Israel. The region is experiencing some turmoil to say the least.
Central Asia:
The USSR has continued to stagnate, but they may try to capitalize on the fact that there is turmoil elsewhere.
Southern Asia:
South Asia has remained largely dormant, with some new technological advancement, but little else
Eastern Asia:
Tremendous responses from major regional players have deadened the impact of the disaster in North Korea. Application of Philippines technologies have stemmed the flow of the disease.
Southwest Pacific:
The chaos in PNG is largely isolated, and the Philippine disease-prevention technology has stemmed the spread of the avian flu.
