So you want to post the development or trailer to an indie horror game? Please make sure you follow these rules!

[ANNOUNCMENT]

So you made or saw an indie horror game that looks intresting and want to share it with the community? Please make sure the game in question follow these rules before posting!

  1. Before posting, ask yourself whether your game really has a strong visual/story connection to the Silent Hill series and whether the people here would be interested. We are sure your game is great! But if it doesn't have any themes of traits of Silent Hill it's probably best shared in r/HorrorGaming.

  2. Are you really ready to share it? Do you have a strong trailer, with enough completed content that release will be imminent? We know you are excited about your game, we probably will be too! Just make sure you're at a stage where you can see yourself releasing your title sometime soon. This community has suffered enough crushed dreams and cancellations.

  3. Give details! People are going to ask questions, and if you're not prepared to/cannot answer, maybe you're not ready to share it with us.

  4. Is it original enough in content? We've seen a lot of games that look very similar to P.T. We get it, that game was great! But one, there are several, full sized games that came before it that define Silent Hill, and two people don't have interest in things they are seeding time and time again. So if your game has us crawling through another looping hallway, expect to not get the warmest response.

If you still feel that you meet all these expectations, then please post. We look forward to seeing what you developers come up with!

Big shoutout to u/huknar for providing us with this! Can't wait to play your horror game "Simulacrum"!
