Longswords would have fine reach to the one who said not long enough. But a sword and shield period would be ten times more effective at defending against anymore then 3-5 zombies at once. A sword of any kind would be fine enough to fight 1 zombie at a time. Most say katanas are the best for there cutting potential, but I Disagree. I feel as if the katana is too short and lacks thrusting; which can be useful for brain strikes or heart strikes(theoretically a zombie should die from a heart stab as well as brain stab, idc what movies say, i dont see a human body surviving to function period without a pumping heart).

Anyway, longsowrds that are sharpened properly are not all that less sharp then a katana. look online where they review this, and ook at the Uhbaree or however tf its said viking steel sword. great weopen. But honestly A baseball bat or monk stick (like black guy from walking dead) would be more effective in my opinion, because you will cause instant brain trauma, which should be enough to kill a zombie. and you dont have to worry about constatly sharpening your blade. - but you do have to worry about breaking your stick lol. hopefully its strong. I would still have a sword myself as a secondary weapon, hell even a primary one. Because its all about single-combat with zombies. cause no matter what weopen you have , you are not taking on a heard of zombies lol 10+ , unless its a fuckin mini-gun or m203 on a m4a1 lolol But yeah I would suggest a proper longsword, then a wakizashi for a secondary shord or if they get in range, or a dagger etc. But everyone thinks long swords are much duller and cant cut as good. swear people are tweaking. plus have a duel edged sword you actually have a less chance of it getting stuck in the neck, you have more reach then a katana. and more weight momentum in the swing and thrust. But that's just my opinion. everyone has their own.
