Rise of Minodom Part 1 - Beginning of a mutually beneficial friendship

Our tale begins in the year 1535 AEV (After Eternity Vault), the first year of Uther Pendragon the seconds rule, and 39 years before a certain Paladin and Rogue depart from Pendragon Hold.

Talas, a young half-elf bard, is currently on a journey from the elven capital of Vaeri'Jaestra.

He is tasked with delivering a letter to the dwarven capitol of Hollo'Dar, located in the mountains to the south east of the Bright Woods, approximately 2 to 3 weeks of travel time away.

Only a few short days into his journey, not even outside of the Bright Woods yet. Talas has made camp in the ruins of an old tower, and has drawn the attention of a passing elf and her small raptor companion.

Aforementioned passing elf is Player 2. She and her raptor sneak up. She goes to the hole in the wall behind Talas as he is packing up, raptor goes to hole in opposite wall.

'I make a squawking sound to intimidate him.' -Elf lady

Elf lady rolls 11, raptor companion rolls even lower.

'You hear a voice behind you make a loud sound, you don't know what it was meant to be but you know it was a person. From the wall across the room from you hear a squawk and see a raptors head poking in through the hole. It notices you looking at it and ducks away.' -Me to Talas.

Talas hastens his pace, finishes packing his bedroll and investigates the hole the voice came from.

Elf lady and her raptor both ran around their sides to the 'main entrance' and went into the room. Attempt to intimidate poor Talas in harmony.

Raptor rolls a 20, elf lady gets 18.

'While examining the hole in the wall you hear footsteps run away, and when you turn around suddenly their is an Elven woman and a velociraptor standing before you. It bares its teeth and extends its talons as it hisses at you, and somehow the woman is just as intimidating. Whether or not its because she actually is intimidating, or if its because she is standing next to the raptor, you are unsure.' -Me to Talas again.

Talas backs up to the wall and draws his rapier, eyes darting between the two of them.

The Elf lady makes a sort of hiss noise at the raptor, to which the raptor responds by backing off a bit and hopping onto a small pile of rubble.

Elf lady walks up to the fire and looks at the half-elf, 'Who are you and what do you want?'

'My name is Talas, I'm delivering a mesage to the dwarven kingdom-Who the heck are you?' -Talas

Elf lady is walking a circle around Talas former campfire 'Who am I is of no importance to you.'

'So what's so important about this message to dwarves?' -Elf Lady

'I don't know. I didn't read it.' -Talas

'Why not? Aren't you curious?' -Elf Lady

'A little bit, but not enough to open it.' -Talas

'So then you're just one of those people who will do things when asked to do them.' -Elf Lady

'Not always.' -Talas

'Talas roll perception please.' -Me

Gets 1.

Talas was too engaged with the Elf Lady circling the fire to even notice the raptor vanish.

Hears a clicking sound behind him and feels a claw come down on his shoulder.

Talas jumps away fairly alarmed, raptor drops to where he was and releases a mix between a hiss and a chirp as it looks at him.

'Well Cleo hasn't slit your throat yet, so that's good, that probably means your not evil.' -Elf Lady

Talas gives Elf Lady a 'WHAT' face.

'Are you crazy?' -Talas

'Yeah! I am actually, would you like to know why?' -Elf Lady

'That explains a bit.' -Talas

Elf Lady begins rambling 'Well. Seeing as how you wandered into our territory, and don't seem to have any ill will. Not that it would help you any if you did, would you mind if I tagged along?'

That total 180 from intimidates to partying up though.

'I don't see why not...' Talas responds, equal parts curiosity and not wanting to deny the crazy Elf Lady.

Short spat about their destination, Elf Lady decides to explore the nearby forest to check for herbs and things. Talas goes to finish packing while she does.

Elf Lady has nature as a skill, proficiency though lets do this.

'Alright good job Cleo, we finally found someone who knows a bit outside of this forest so we can travel safely!' Elf Lady says to her raptor as she searches. Raptor coos at her in response.

The dice are with her, as we get the second 20 of the session.

Finds a small patch of 6 herbs growing under a tree that she knows have curative properties.

Cleo sniffs the leaves as she picks them and starts to take a bite from one.

'Don't do it Cleo! Not yet! You're fine, I mean the other guy might be needing one because he's-he's scared shitless.' -Elf Lady

In reality Talas is less scared and more utterly confused.

They meet back with Talas and start to head on their journey out of the Bright Woods to Hollo'Dar.

Elf Lady introduces herself as Chireep.
