Sydney Mardi Gras 2017 questions

Hey all. I just found out my cousin from the UK and her wife will be here in Australia next year and suggested we all go to the Sydney Mardi Gras. I was wondering if anyone on here has been before and I could ask you some questions as I'm now planning this part of the trip (and flying down from Brisbane to attend as well). I've found it somewhat difficult to get information online. So any info would be much appreciated.
