Am i being stalked? Is my life in danger?

Ok so when i first moved to a new place I stayed with a man i had just met (Risky i know but it was desperate times) for 2 months ..... We never had sex... Only kissed when i first got there, and he would try to get me to kiss him and hug him and cuddle and he started saying he loves me SO much and stuff like that... I didn't feel the same way, and i actually found him really smothering so i planned to leave soon.. That was actually always the plan - to get my own place. And when i would go out he would get really upset and so one time i came back from an outing and all my stuff was outside and so i got it and left.

Fast forward to now. That was 6 months ago... He has sent me over 20 emails... The first few emails were more along the lines of "are you ok" so I thought if I emailed him back saying I was OK he would leave me alone. But no. And then he started threatening me and accusing me of owing him money and he even found my parents address and threatened to call them and get the money from them. So i got scared and told him I would meet him and give him money. So when I got there he hugged me and acted like he didn't even care about the money but I gave it to him anyway, and when I said I had to leave he was upset. So at that point I knew that he was really just using all these things to try to see me.

He's called me so many times, even when I blocked his number he calls from "no caller ID" and I picked up a couple times and talk to him and he says stuff like he misses me so much he needs me in his life and he loves me and I saved his life... And how much he wants to make it up to me and take me out ... I never said anything mean (even though I really want to tell him to fuck off) i just said I'm BUSY and i don't know. But he keeps pushing and trying to get me to confirm a date for us to meet but I never answer that. and when I say I have to go he doesn't want to hang up and he tries to call again.... And no, I'm not falling for any of this, I do not want to see him again he creeps me out

And on my birthday he emailed me happy birthday... And i replied thank you (shouldn't have) and then he offered to take me to Vegas for my birthday but I didn't reply...

and sometimes when he has called I accidentally pick up and say hello but then I recognize his voice and then I hang up immediately and then he calls like 10 more times.

And get this: I change my number back to my old number that I used to use and he even called me on my old number. Which means he tried both numbers. and he sends me a text offering to take me out and trying to get my attention. telling me about events that are going on... I NEVER reply but he still tries... I literally haven't talk to him months but I accidentally picked up and said hello a month ago.

And Today he called through "unknown number" and left a 4 minute voice mail saying the same stuff like how he wants to take me out and asking 'why am i not telling him what i'm up to..' AND he mentions the fact that i attended a certain music festival.. Which means that he looked at my Instagram..

do I need to switch Instagram accounts/names so he doesn't know what I'm up to?

OK so from writing this it's obvious that he's crazy and obsessed with me but my question is what kind of crazy is that and I'm actually kind of scared to report him But should I report him? Is he dangerous if I don't? and how?
