My self esteem is overly tied to how much I think girls are into me
I had this limiting belief for several years now. I am a pretty confident person all around, but whenever I'm single I find myself putting far too much weight on the thoughts of random girls about me, and basically as soon as a couple of girls aren't immediately attracted to me when I interact with them I take it to mean that I'm unattractive, and it affects my self esteem (which then makes girls even less attracted to me and the cycle continues). I know rationally it's bullshit and that someone being into me has just as much to do with the person as it does with me, and I know I have a lot to offer and that regardless my self esteem being directly tied to how attractive I am is ridiculous as my level of attractiveness doesn't make or break who I am... And yet I can't break free from it. I feel like it's the single most limiting belief I hold now and I just can't shake it. Can anyone here help with advice or reframing techniques to help me shake it?
EDIT: tl;dr: I have 2 limiting beliefs I'm trying to overcome:
- Tying my overall perception of my attractiveness to a few select instances where I perceived certain girls as finding me unattractive
- Overly tying that perceived attractiveness to my overall self worth.
