Not sure how to feel about imbalanced relationships

This is just a silly post about how I am feeling mentally conflicted. This is not the real problem but is for context. I've been dating my boyfriend for a 7 years. We're in our early 20s and background. He makes more money than I do, but hopefully that will change once I go back to graduate school. While he currently pays for our meals 70% of the time and drives most of the time, I feel our relationship is for the most part balanced. We respect each other and I think we come off as equals to our friends and family.

Here's where the mental conflict comes in. His roommate has a girlfriend for a year now and I've seen their relationship progress throughout the year. I've discovered that they have a dynamic that I'm just not use to. She likes to laugh at literally everything he says. She shows affection by making cat or dog noises. She lets him pet her like like a dog on the head sometimes, even through my bf and I are sitting right across from them. She talks to everyone in a cutesy baby voice. She says things like saving money and buying houses is guy thing while girls don't care as much.

I get so enraged thinking about how the progress feminism has made is being put to waste with her. I also have seen relationships where the woman is just too dominant and controlling. So guys! Tell me? Is the point of feminism to allow women to choose if they want to be emotionally submissive, equals, or dominant to their significant others? Do I have the right to feel silently enraged? Or am I just a hater? What do woman think about emotionally submissive women?

Edit: I know my feelings are irrationally and trivial. I just needed to rant and see what other women think.
