TIFU by having soup for lunch.
So I decide to bring a nice big can of Campbell's Chunky chicken noodle soup to work today for lunch. Lunch time comes and I go to the lunch room and grab the can. It's one of those cans that has the little tab for your finger to grab and then you can pull the lid up.
So I'm pulling on the lid with my right hand and holding the can steady with the left. I guess my left hand was a little too high on the can because when I pulled the lid off, it ended up slicing my hand on the webbing between the thumb and pointer finger. The slice was probably almost half an inch deep. I could see flesh and what I think was a tendon or something. I run back to my desk and show my boss (he sits near me). His eyes widen and he says "Go to urgent care. Now!"
So I pack my stuff and drive to urgent care with my right hand on the wheel and my left gripping a wad of paper towels to keep pressure on the cut. I get to urgent care, fill out the paper work and sit, waiting for the doctor to call me from the waiting room. After about 5 minutes, I start getting light-headed. So I tell the front desk lady and they get to me right away. I end up getting 3 stitches in my hand and can get them removed in about 10 days.
TL;DR: Cut my hand opening a soup can. Had to leave work to get stitches.
