40 hours in, my entire game just reset itself

Hey guys, so I have no idea who else to share this with. I'm playing this game on PS4 and I'm like 40 hours in. Just jumping from planet to planet and minding my own business.

I turn my PS4 on today and launch the game. After loading, it tells me to press square to initialize... Uhhh okay? All of a sudden I have no inventory, the default ship and gun, and this isn't the planet I saved on last night.

When I press start and launch one of my 2 previous saves it just takes me to the beginning of the tutorial again. Someone please tell me wtf is going on and how I can get back to my game

Edit: I now have 0 units, no discoveries, no journey milestones. Searched everywhere online and still haven't found anyone that's had this problem.

Good thing this happened to one of the like two dozen people on Earth that were actually loving this game and defending it.

No point in starting all over again since my game could just decide to reset itself spontaneously again.
