Looking for an adventure bike

The bmw f700 and f800gs more specifically Looking at getting a new bike and these two have been on the short list for a while. Anyone on here have experience with either model, or a different adventure bike model I should look at? Wants -commuting - mixed use roads and some dirt, nothing too technical, have klx -400 for that - are all the riding aids worth the extra cost(abs,asc, electronic suspension)?
