What's a horror film that completely subverts expectations for whichever characters live and die?

With just about any horror film you see that features a variety of characters, it's almost certainly the unsympathetic jerks who go first, usually followed by the characters who are too good for their own good, leaving the plucky unlikely hero/heroine to fend for him/herself.

Is there a good horror film out there that turns this format on its head? Maybe the nice guy and the plucky girl are some of the first victims, and it's the assholes who manage to make it to the end.
