Seduction in a hard environment

After reading the seduction subreddit for a while I'd like to actually apply this stuff. Unfortunately my situation doesn't seem to lend itself very well to it. I'm about to start another year of university. Even though this may seem like a dream opportunity to some I don't think my particular situation is great at all. The first big issue is that I am not living around campus and instead have to commute from my parents' house. When I brought up moving they literally told me they would disown me if I did. So that's rough, but it gets worse.

In my field, comp. sci., there is a ridiculous male to female ratio. It's 5% females at the very best. This means getting to know a girl from a class is highly unlikely. Another problem is the workload. Over last year there were many days were I'd wake up early to catch the train, have classes until the evening and once I'm back home and have eaten I pretty much have to go sleep right away if I want to be well rested for the next day. This situation can be detrimental to my health. At some point last year I got pretty depressed and lost a lot of weight.

Should I just deal with it until I'm done with university or is there a way to make this work? I'd love to hear your advice.
