Batman Day: All You Need to Know

Pinned

I've noticed a huge influx of posts on the upcoming Batman Day. Mainly the posts are asking "What is it?" or "When is it?" and even "Should I save for it?", simple questions that could be answered with a single thread instead of ten.

Now, do keep in mind that NetherRealm could have easily changed the event, although highly unlikely.

What is Batman Day?

Taking place on September 27, 2015, (It has come to my attention it will be September 17 this year) every available Batman was in the store at a 25% discount. Dawn of Justice Batman and Arkham Knight Batman had not been released, so we do not know if they will be included this year (the Arkham Pack was released November 2015). The list of included variations that appeared in last years sale: Prime, Insurgency, Beyond, Red Son, Arkham Origins, Animated Beyond, and Blackest Night.

How much do I need to save?

Well, with the costs of the characters being discounted by 25%, every four characters of the same Batman effectively allows you to get a fifth for no charge, as opposed to the regular costs. In addition, if you missed the challenges of Animated Beyond, Blackest Night, or Red Son, this allows you to promote (and purchase) without the challenge. I've included the prices for each Batman during the sale below. I will be using the cost for a single copy and eight copies, as eight copies is the amount to promote a card to the maximum promotion. To determine how many copies you can buy of a certain Batman, put your credit count in a calculator, then divide by the single cost of the card you want. The end result will be how many copies you could buy if the sale was live.

Beyond: Single Copy: 130,500 credits

Eight: 1,044,000 credits

Prime, Insurgency, Blackest Night: Single Copy: 136,500 credits.

Eight Copies: 1,092,000 credits

Red Son: Single: 150,750 credits

Eight: 1,206,000 credits

Animated Beyond: Single: 189,000 credits

Eight: 1,512,000 credits

Arkham Origins: Single: 281,250 credits

Eight: 2,250,000 credits

Now, here's the catch: NetherRealm might not bring out Arkham Knight Batman and Dawn of Justice Batman. Instead, they might just include the packs in which each could be found, due to their exclusive status. 750,000 for the Arkham Pack with 3 Arkham characters, with a 13% chance for Arkham Knight Batman, or 135,000 for the Dawn of Justice Pack, a regular gold booster pack with a less than 10% chance of dropping Dawn of Justice Batman. However, there was a 150,000 Dawn of Justice Booster Pack, with a chance of dropping Dawn of Justice Batman, Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman, or Dawn of Justice Superman. However, since it is BATMAN day, the latter pack is not likely to be included.

I will be including Arkham Knight Batman's and Dawn of Justice Batman's sale prices, should they indeed become purchasable and on sale

Arkham Knight: Single: 296,250 credits

Eight: 2,370,000 credits

Dawn of Justice: Single: 300,000 credits

Eight: 2,400,000 credits

Which Batman should I buy?

Prime: A good character to stick on a farming team for the extra 25% damage boost for the entire team. Decent enough health stat, but outclassed by most any new character, and his passive is viewed as inferior to Animated Harley Quinn, trading -5% damage for +20% power generation. Harley Quinn is also cheaper than sale Batman (by 3,000 credits, and again, that is with the Batman Day sale), and her Bag'O Tricks, with its +50% damage boost or team heal or clutch unblockable damage places her as the undisputed support queen.

Beyond: A relic of the past. Below average passive (Immune to Stuns), bad base stats, but the saving grace is in his rarity. Consider buying one copy just to have one.

Insurgency: Suited to be a damage dealer, but his passive(+300% on a SINGLE BASIC if target is stunned) is usually ineffective. Not worth.

Blackest Night: A horrible Batman Card. His passive(+20% damage from midnight to 6:00 AM), although it seems good it is not, it is trash. Do not invest.

Red Son: A good card. His passive grants an unblockable chance to Red Son teammates on their Special One. It occurs quite frequently, making him decent on a Red Son team. Unless you have a Red Son team, or plan on buying many Red Son packs, skip for now.

Animated Beyond: Another decent card. His passive gives him temporary (around 10 second) boosts upon each special. Double damage for basic attacks upon his Special One activation (Batarang). +50% Crit chance on Special Two activation, including basic attacks and specials. His Ultimate grants extra Critical damage, but unless you already have critical gear, as well as the difficulty to gain enough power for one, we can skip it for now. With the sale, he comes at a decent price for a good carry. Finding yourself unable to buy the most expensive Batmen? This is the card for you.

Arkham Origins: An OK card. His passive grants him two bars of starting power at the beginning of a match, which seems good, until you read Arkham Knight Batman's passive. If Arkham Knight is included in this sale, buy him instead.

Arkham Knight: Widely regarded as the best Batman card, and for good reason. His passive lets him choose two, match-long boosts out of six game changers (Two bars of starting power, Power Drain immunity, Bonus Damage on Special One, Bonus Damage on Crits, Immunity to Bleed+Burning+Poison, Temporary Immunity to being Crit). I won't go too in-depth, but here is his wiki page: http://injustice-mobile.wikia.com/wiki/Batman/Arkham_Knight

Definitely focus on grinding for this Batman. Constantly regarded as one of the best cards in the game. Not mentioning the fact that he is only available in the Arkham Pack

Dawn of Justice: This Batman fights for the title of best Batman as well. His passive is Reverse Flash's (Chance for no damage from enemy skills) but with a twist; He deals damage back to them, and there is no limit to the amount of times it can be activated. It comes down to whether you like this card more than Arkham Knight Batman, but both are great choices.

TL;DR: Three Sections: 1. What Batman Day is. 2. How much to grind for each Batman. 3. General opinions for each Batman (Which one should you get.)

Thank you for reading, and ask me any questions/tell me anything I missed.
