So I had a pretty interesting 'debate' about Hel being broken or not...

Do people actually think this way? Just to get it out of the way, I'm going to try to briefly go over the reasons Hel was viewed as a top pick for the small amount of time she saw play.
Firstly, the weakening nerf. Now, you would think this was the time healers were instantly in the meta? No, far from it. Hel during this time was still considered 'bad' or 'trash' until the pro scene said otherwise.
Tanky/ dirty bubble meta. This, unlike now's burst meta, is one of the central reasons, other than weakening being weaker, that healers were so valued during this time. Health and protections were not spit as they are now and warrior were more rampant so everyone was harder to kill and having a healer made matches longer. Hel in particular was more valued since she had an aoe burst heal on a low cooldown, but that just meant she was the top valued pick, not the only.
Old active system. unlike now, the old system required you to spend gold for a weakened anti heal item, which could set you back. Now you can get anti heal at lvl 1 along with improved anti items that weren't potent in S2.
Hel still had a horrible early game, nothing had changed about that. It was just in late S2, if you remotely got through to lategame along with your tanky team, you could just play support healer.
Team not utilizing all anti heal options. Hel had a 100% pick/ ban rate, but was actually rarely played. when played, she actually had mixed win/ loss outcomes, usually because teams either didnt bother to counter Hel or successfully beat her in to the ground.
There are more points, but i wold just like to end it saying Hel wasn't broken in the least, it was the state of the meta that mde her more viable than all other healers and we didnt have a 'healer meta.'
