I need advice. Am I doing "Status" Right?

So I built a Shinobi Sky/Akantor-R Mixed set for Maximum Status attacking. Got Deathprize(The Gendrome SnS). I've had very inconsistent results with this kit. I tested it out on a Bulldrome. A few times I killed him before I could para him. A few times He was paralyzed after a couple combos. One time he was paralyzed in the first hit.

Is Paralysis threshold random? Or is my kit just giving me wildly varying results:
