Do you request payment for initial meetings?

I've been meeting with a mom, trying to get her daughter (2,f) used to being around a babysitter. They've never been apart from each other and it's clear the daughter is going to have some separation anxiety, which is fine and I really appreciate the acclimation!

But tonight will be going on the fourth meeting without getting paid. Also the second time we planned to meet, she forgot we set something up. The third time she was half an hour late and wanted me to stay another hour. I never expect payment or anything like it on the first meeting, but each one is about two hours and after a 12 hour day with my other charge. Is this normal? Mom is always around each time but it's still time I'm carving out of my day to be with them and I wouldn't say I'm charging anything unreasonable. I don't know if my expectations are unreasonable or if I should take this as a red flag and run. What do you guys think?
