Restoring Priesthood back on Earth in the last days..

I always heard this is why LD$ has the priesthood "authority", but I guess I am wondering one thing. Is this something that ol Joe stole from the bible and bastardized? Or is it something he 100% made up to save face? I get it is one of the same, but I am curious if it has any other ties that to Mormonism or where it actually came from.
