TIFU--scratched damper body installing RC3+ shock

Hey guys,

Noticed a little scratch while installing this RC3+ on my Jeffsy. It's small, and I ran over it with some 2000 grit and then some polishing compound. Is there much else that can be done? I've managed so far to keep my suspension components scratch-free, so I've no context for matching the severity of a scratch/knick to the size of a scratch visually. Any advice welcome. 90% sure it's my fault, so returning it is pretty much out of the question.
