Clarity on Size Exclusion Chromatography

So pardon me if I'm getting this mixed up or I have a temporarily fried brain, but in size exclusion chromatography the smaller molecules take longer to elute (large molecules elute faster), correct?

Similarly, what if agarose gel is poured into the column? Would this still be the case? I had a question on NS8 that I was reviewing a few hours ago where the larger molecule migrated faster. Seemed counterintuitive as large molecules migrate slower in gel electrophoresis.

Could anyone clarify this?
