A piece of cotton
I'm writing this because I think it's meant to be the right thing to do to help myself , not lock things in etc.. I've been back home one month after three months away in rehab and I decided it would be a good thing to vacuum my floor seeing I've been in a bit of a lack of motivation rut since I've been home (I get up walk the dog, 30mins meditation then pretty much get magnetised to the couch watching crime series for rest of the day...). Anyhow I'm down on the floor of my bedroom scraping away with the vacuum cleaner nozzle at my rug and come across a previously discarded wadded up cotton filter, one of would of used when I mixed up a shot. Instantly felt the anxiety tingle of old, thought came into my head I could just go and score a point no one would have to know. Argue with that thought, tell myself craving will pass. Then comes in the next strong thought that many addicts have one relapse and get back on the horse straight after and its okay to have one strike in recovery. Argued back with all the reasons told in rehab. Arghhh tried to go back to vacuuming but feeling adrenaline, frustrated so stopped and came on here to vent and hopefully settle myself back down....all from a stupid piece of cotton!!
