ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX DC3 - "the ordinary" or the OC-version?

Question

Hey there!

So I'm thinking of buying a new GPU, and I've set my eyes on the GTX 1070. It seems as if one of the most popular version of this graphics card is the fabric overclocked version I mention in the title - the ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX DC3 OC. Now, the sad thing is that there seems to be a shortage of this particular version of the GTX 1070 from the retailers in Sweden, where I live. Many of them claim to be expecting a delivery of the OC-version at the end of september, and for some they expect a delivery as late as mid-october! I suppose I could wait, but naturally, I don't really want to! ;)

Now, this only applies to the OC-version. The "normal", non-overclocked version, isn't all that hard to get your hands on.

So my question to you guys is this: is there a significant difference between the ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX DC3 and the ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX DC3 OC? Is the fabric overclocking of significant value? Is it truly worth it to wait for the retailers over here to get the OC-version in their respective stockpiles?

I realize I can always overclock myself, but of course, by doing so, the warranty would be void. Besides, I've never overclocked any computer component in my life. I'm sure I would botch any attempt at it! :)

Any answer would be much appreciated! :)
