Enthusiast pc argument

I was recently talking in one my skype groups about how I was going to build an enthusiast level pc around the x-99 platform, 5820k to be exact. Then one my friends told me it wasnt a "enthusiast build" and that his build with a 6700k skylake would be better, because it has a higher clock speed. I mananged to point out how the 5820k has 2 more cores, 4 more threads, and 15mbs of cache as opposed to the 6700k having 8mbs. So I thought I would bring it to you, who do you agree with master race lurkers?
