Question about a canned cycle to cut bosses

Hello all,

I'm a student about to graduate from a two year college's CNC program. We've gotten into canned cycles for drilling, tapping, and pocketing, but I was wondering.

Is there a cycle for producing a boss? IE G150 but inverted? Basically I want to use a subprogram to define the geometry of a loop and incorporate a Z step. I can't find anything in our resources (HAAS Machines) for this application. I've tried the simple G150 pocket program and defining the pocket AROUND the boss I want to leave, but it keeps throwing errors and the one time I got it to work, the pocket had to be so large it spent more time cutting air than metal.

Tl;Dr anybody know a canned cycle for a loop with a z step for cutting bosses?
