Why does Blackbeard have a hole in his shield?

Pls read the post all the way through before coming up with an opinion, i'm not concerned with how powerful Blackbeard is, im concerned about how consistent he is to play as / fight against. We can adjust his balance after he feels more consistent

There's a small hole where the rifle shield connects to his rifle that Blackbeard can be headshot through. I suppose this is a balancing factor, but if Blackbeard is SUPPOSED to be the "peer through windows guy", please make it so that i dont have to fear stray rounds hitting me in the face. Nine times out of ten, it's lucky sprays that kill me through this hole, not calculated headshots. You can balance out the rifle shield in other ways such as making it more breakable or whatnot, and I feel that this hole only makes the game feel more inconsistent than it already is. Now i'm not saying that Blackbeard needs a buff, i 100% agree that he is a very strong pick ATM and that his viability definitely needs to go down. However, surely there are other ways to do this because right now, i feel cheated whenever i get killed by this goddamn hole
