Homesick

I just moved back for my second year of college and I can't get over the homesickness. I made many friends last year but it's just not like home. Any tips for getting over this feeing? Live in Cali go to school in New York. Did I bite off more than u could chew or do I just need to suck it up and grow up. Please help. Thank you
