I use to like this one girl but now I like this other girl is that normal?

So there are these two girls girl number 1 and 2. Girl number one is the one I use to like. While girl number 2 was my friend who knew I liked girl number 1. As time went on and I hanged out with girl number 2 and talked with her more I started developing more feelings for her. Now I don't like number 1 anymore and I feel like number 2 but I feel she will hate me if I tell her my feelings because she knew originally I like number 1. I feel like she might think she's the second choice even though I never told number 1 that I liked her in the first place. I'm confused and don't know what to do.
